This year will be remembered by many domestic winemakers as one of the most fruitful in their careers, as Croatia has won an impressive 25 gold medals!
The largest and most influential global wine competition has concluded in London, and our winemakers have reasons to celebrate, as reported by jutarnji.hr. According to the just-released ratings, a total of 22 labels were awarded gold medals, indicating a score of 95 points or higher.
A total of 480 Croatian wines were entered in the competition this year, with 360 of them receiving gold, silver, or bronze medals. While everyone has a reason to celebrate, it's worth noting that the Istrian winery Benvenuti stands out in terms of the number of gold medals won.
This winery has received three gold medals, specifically for their Livio Teran, which we recently wrote about and also won a gold medal at Vinistra, as well as for San Salvatore Muscat and Anno Domini Teran.
Furthermore, we must not overlook the four wines that scored 96 points, namely the Ledeno Graševina from Kutjevo 2018, the aforementioned Livio Teran from 2019, Kabola Winery's Unica from 2019, and Reuben's Private Reserve Korta Katarina from 2013.
