According to data from the International Air Transport Association and the Henley Passport Index for 2023, the most powerful passport in the world is the Japanese passport. Holders of a Japanese passport can visit 193 out of 227 destinations without a visa, which is equivalent to 85 percent of the world.

In second place are the passports of South Korea and Singapore, which allow travel to 192 countries without a visa. Germany and Spain share the third place with access to 190 destinations.

Where is the Croatian passport? How many countries can Croatians visit without needing to apply for a visa?

Croatia is ranked high on the new list in 13th position with access to 186 destinations without a visa.

Finnish, Italian, and Luxembourgish passports are tied for 4th place (189 destinations), while Austrian, Danish, Dutch, and Swedish passports are tied for 5th place (188). French, Irish, Portuguese, and British passport holders currently rank 6th in the world with 187 visa-free destinations.

Among the top 10 passports in the world are those issued by the US, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.

Ukraine is one of the largest climbers on the Henley Passport Index in the past decade, moving up 24 places, and would likely enter the top 10 if the country joins the EU.
