Zagreb experienced a significant surge in passengers flying in from London, adding over 23,000 passengers on services to and from the UK capital in the first quarter of this year.
This growth was primarily driven by the low-cost Irish airline Ryanair, which introduced flights between the two cities in 2021, reports EX-YU Aviation.
Notably, Ryanair, operating from Stansted Airport, has surpassed both Croatia Airlines and British Airways, who operate flights to Heathrow.
While Croatia Airlines witnessed a decline in passenger numbers to London compared to 2019, Ryanair made up for the difference. Overall, the budget carrier transported 28,838 passengers between Zagreb and London, surpassing the combined total of 25,506 passengers carried by Croatia Airlines and British Airways.
