Revenues from foreign tourists in 2022 amounted to 13.1 billion euros, which is 44 percent more than in 2021 and 24 percent more than in 2019, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports reported on Friday, citing Croatian National Bank (CNB) data.

Compared to 2021, revenues from foreign tourists in 2022 are 3.9 billion euros higher, and compared to the record 2019, 2.5 billion euros higher, the Ministry adds.

"Croatia achieved record results in revenue from foreign tourists in 2022, of 13.1 billion euros, and if we were to add to that the estimated revenue from domestic tourists, we arrive at a total of around 15 billion euros. These results are a confirmation of our orientation towards quality and added value", said the Minister of Tourism and Sports, Nikolina Brnjac.

In addition to the annual level, the minister also emphasizes the significant growth of income in 2022 in periods outside the summer season, when an average growth of 19 percent was achieved compared to the same period in record 2019.

The Ministry also presents CNB data for the fourth quarter of 2022, in which foreign tourists generated 1.4 billion euros in revenue, or 44 percent more than in the same period in 2021, and 33 percent more than in the same period in 2019.
