A strong earthquake with a magnitude of 4.8 has struck the Croatia island of Krk. The epicentre of the earthquake was on the island of Krk and had a magnitude of 4.8, and was felt in the capital, Zagreb, reports N1. However, the European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) is reporting that the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.3.
“It didn’t last long but it really shook the building,” reported an eye witness for us from Zagreb. And added “I am still shaking.”
And on the EMSC application witnesses commented “Fast and strong,” – “Very strong shaking,” and “Rumbling noise and shaking building.”
Reportedly the Krk earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometres and struck at exactly 9:47 a.m.
