Participants in Europe's largest military industry fair in Paris confirm that the military sector is on fire, Vecernji List reported on Wednesday, noting that demand for Croatian military equipment has never been higher.
Eurosatory, the largest European arms and military equipment fair held every two years in Paris, is not missed by anyone in the business, including representatives of the Croatian military industry, which started again after the corona crisis and is recording rapid export growth.
Last year, for the largest among them, the Karlovac manufacturer of pistols and assault rifles HS Produkt, was the best in history, and it earned more than 1.07 billion Kuna, almost entirely in foreign markets.
The second largest player in this sector, Zagreb's DOK-ING, generated a record 265 million Kuna in revenue from the export of its robotic unmanned demining vehicles. Helmet manufacturer Šestan-Busch earned 66 million Kuna, and about the same amount from the state agency Alan.
Although the largest had their stands in Paris, it is important to have a strong joint performance through the Croatian Defense Industry Competitiveness Cluster, which already brings together more than 60 Croatian companies. How much this sector is on fire, especially after the start of the war in Ukraine, is shown by the fact that three months ago the cluster included about 40 companies.
