From Australia to America, landmarks of the world were lit up in the red, white and blue of the Croatian flag to mark one of the most important dates on the calendar, Statehood Day.
On the 30th of May 1990 the constitution of the first multi-party Croatian parliament was formed, clearly an important date to remember for modern day Croatia.
It is a public and national holiday and flags across the country marked this day, but it wasn’t only in Croatia that the day was celebrated as landmarks across the world were lit up in the Croatian colours.
In Australia the Victoria Bridge, over the Brisbane River in Brisbane was illuminated in red, white and blue. And the Niagara Falls also looked spectacular in the Croatian colours.
