In the last 24 hours, 10,427 new cases of Covid-19 virus infection were recorded, and the number of active cases in Croatia today is a total of 56,208.
Among them, 1,796 people are in hospital, of which 204 are on respirators.
Unfortunately, a further 45 people died in the past 24 hours.
Today’s figure represents a record number of new cases of Covid-19 in Croatia, the largest daily increase since the pandemic began. It is also important to point out that these figures are only people tested with a PCR test and not a rapid antigen test.
Last Wednesday there were 9,894 newly infected, and the week before, on January 5, 8,587 cases of infection were confirmed.
Since February 25, 2020, when the first case of infection was recorded in Croatia, a total of 836,807 people have been infected with the new coronavirus, of which 13,257 have died, a total of 767,342 have recovered, of which 3,702 recovered in the last 24 hours.
There are currently 31,730 people in self-isolation.
To date, a total of 4,031,182 people have been tested, of which 20,292 in the last 24 hours.
As of January 18, 2022, 4,990,195 doses of vaccine had been used, and 56.27 percent of the total population and 66.98 percent of the adult population have been vaccinated.
