According to data from the Croatian National Tourist Board around 580,000 tourists have stayed in Croatia so far this October, with 2.3 million overnight stays, which is 215 percent more tourists and 121 percent more overnight stays when compared to the same period from last year.
Among all destinations, Dubrovnik and Zagreb have been the most visited in October, partly due to recovery of business meetings.
Data from the Dubrovnik Tourist Board show that in the first 20 days of October there were 36.3 thousand tourists and 129 thousand overnight stays, which is a large increase compared to about seven thousand tourists and about 31 thousand overnight stays in October 2020.
Most tourists in Dubrovnik this October are from the UK, Germany, USA, Croatia and the Netherlands.
"By the end of October, a little more than 30 hotels will be open, and at the beginning of November a certain number will be closed due to the winter,” commented the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.
