Croatian President meets with diaspora in New York

During his stay in New York, where he is attending the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly, the Croatian President, Zoran Milanovic, met with representatives of the Croatian business and scientific community of Croats from New York at the Permanent Mission to Croatia, the Office of the President announced on Thursday.

Representatives of the Croatian business and scientific community in New York briefed President Milanovic on their activities both in connecting as many Croats living in New York as possible and in strengthening their ties with Croatia, it was announced.

In a conversation with President Milanović, they made suggestions on how to improve this cooperation, and offered their help in the affirmation of Croatia in New York and in America. They expressed satisfaction with the meeting and the respect shown to them by Croatian state institutions.

As it was announced, the meeting was attended, among others, by the President of the National Federation of American Croats (NFCA) Steve Rukavina, Fr. Vedran Kirinčić from the Croatian Catholic Mission of the Blessed Ivan Mertz, Astoria, and a member of the Government Council for Croats Abroad Travel - Astoria Boris Miketic.
