Split Airport is the busiest port in Croatia, and only this weekend 180 planes with 32 thousand passengers passed through the airport, according to data from Split Airport. In fact, this weekend is the busiest weekend this year for Split Airport.
"If the situation does not worsen, we could have more than 300,000 passengers in July. It is difficult to say anything in advance because no one knows how the situation will develop," said Mate Melvan, the head of the Passenger Reception and Dispatch Service at Split Airport.
He pointed out that Split Airport is monitoring what is happening and added that this year's tourist season is extremely good compared to last year, which was the worst tourist season so far. "We are in a better position at the moment," said Melvan.
