Although on the new epidemiological map of the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC) Croatia was originally grey, late last night in the new version it still turned green.
On the revised ECDC map, Croatia is still completely green, which is an indication that Croatia is among the safe destinations for the coronavirus epidemic.
Croatian officials also expected Croatia to be among the 'green' countries, but the surprise arrived yesterday when Croatia was marked in grey.
Countries with ‘insufficient information’ or if less than 300 people per 100,000 inhabitants are tested are marked in grey on the ECDC map. Dr. Bernard Kaić from the Croatian Institute of Public Health (HZJZ) explained to Jutarnji list how it was that Croatia found itself in a grey zone. He said that the data was made, but "one click was missing" to be sent. In the meantime, the error was corrected, so ECDC completed the data.
ECDC is a European agency based in Stockholm, and its Covid-maps are also an indicator for tourists whether it is safe to go to a destination.
