The Croatian Institute of Public Health (HZJZ) reported on Saturday that a quarter of the adult population has completed vaccinations.
"A total of 875,503 people have received two doses of the vaccine," the HZJZ reported on its website, noting that around 22 percent of the population have received both Covid doses.
The director of HZJZ, Krunoslav Capak, emphasized the importance of vaccinations despite the more favourable epidemiological situation.
"It is a time of a more favourable epidemiological situation in Croatia, and at a time when new strains of the virus are 'at the door', receiving both doses of the vaccine is extremely important," said Capak.
Capak pointed out that the highest coverage of the first dose of vaccination was achieved in the City of Zagreb (41.4 percent of the total population, or 50.3 percent of the adult population), and the completed vaccination was achieved in the Krapina-Zagorje County (30.3 percent of the total, or 36.3 percent of the adult population).
He thanked health professionals and all those involved in the organization of vaccination.
