Slow start to mass Covid-19 vaccination in Zagreb

By  The Dubrovnik Times Apr 07, 2021

The mass Covid-19 is continuing in Zagreb today and after a slow start it is hoped that more people will turn out over the next few days. Today, World Health Day, the acting mayor of Zagreb, Jelena Pavičić Vukičević, commented that “We want the invited citizens to respond. If we want to protect our health, we have to get vaccinated. Anyone who has a dilemma about the types of vaccines should talk to their doctors about it. We hope to vaccinate our fellow citizens over the age of 65 who want to be vaccinated in the coming days.”

The mass vaccination started yesterday and it was a slow start with only 90 people, out of the 500 people invited, actually turning up for their jab. According to reports on N1 150 refused the vaccination and the rest just didn’t turn up.

Today’s plan is to vaccinate 1,500 people and it would appear that the turnout will be much better than yesterday. Tomorrow it is hoped that 3,000 people will turn up and the same number the day after.
