Croatia tourism hires five foreign PR companies to ramp up interest for 2021

On Friday, the Tourist Board of the Croatian National Tourist Board (CNTB) selected five foreign marketing and PR agencies for co-operation in advertising, media relations and digital communication in 10 markets, announcing that the application of security signs guaranteeing responsibility and safety of tourists will begin in February across the country.

The Minister of Tourism and Sports and CNTB President, Nikola Brnjac, that "Croatia is sending a clear and strong message for the 2021 season that the tourism sector in Croatia is responsible and that tourists will be safe.”

"It is encouraging that people are eager to travel and that Croatia is mentioned as a desirable destination," said the minister, adding that today they made important decisions that will significantly contribute to the promotion of the Republic of Croatia in some of the most important markets.

Brnjac also says that they are aware of how important it is to adopt and implement clear and quality health and safety protocols. "In co-operation with the Croatian Institute of Public Health and umbrella professional associations, we have upgraded the safety label of the World Travel and Tourism Council-WTTC Safe Travel with the national safety label Safe Stay in Croatia, whose implementation and promotion will begin in February," the minister revealed.

CNTB Director, Kristjan Staničić, emphasized that the selection of foreign agencies for cooperation in the markets on the basis of a public tender is crucial for promotion and other activities in this very challenging year.

"We expect from the agencies a strong contribution and effective implementation of marketing and PR campaigns that will ensure Croatia's position on the international market as a safe, high-quality and well-prepared tourist destination that guarantees its guests a diverse offer and safe stay," Stanicic explained.

The agencies selected by the decision of the CNTB Tourist Board to develop an advertising strategy and media plan and conduct marketing activities in 10 markets are Real Group, MediaCom, Aviareps, Pro Media Group and Check-in PR.
