Five Egyptians deported from Croatia at a cost of 300,000 Kuna

By  The Dubrovnik Times Jan 10, 2021

Five citizens of the Arab Republic of Egypt, entered Croatia illegally and without personal documents and were deported at a cost of 300,000 Kuna, writes Jutarnji List.

In order to return the five Egyptians, who entered Croatia illegally, to their home country, the Ministry of the Interior has recently been forced to announce a tender for a charter flight for which it will allocated around 300 thousand Kuna.

This public procurement, by the Ministry of the Interior, happened because the Covid-19 pandemic significantly reduced the number of flights to Egypt. The final bill of the charter flight will not in fact by paid for by the Croatian Government but instead financed from EU funds.
