Prime Minister warns of further Covid-19 measures before Christmas

Written by  Dec 14, 2020

At the beginning of another session of the Government, Prime Minister Andrej Plenković addressed the ministers via video link because he is still in isolation due to being positive for Covid-19. However, he stressed that he hopes this will be the last online session, at least as far as he is concerned.

“Concerning the situation with Covid-19, unfortunately the epidemiological situation is still difficult. We had more than a five percent increase over the previous week. It is important that we adhere to the current measures, and additional efforts are needed. If we do not succeed in that, additional restrictions are possible,” said Plenković.

“Therefore, I once again appeal to all our fellow citizens to be aware of the demanding circumstances because the measures that we adopted are only one part of the story, and the other side is personal responsibility and adherence to measures. It is clear that this Christmas will not be like before. I therefore appeal to everyone to avoid larger family gatherings,” added the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister also spoke about the 24 billion Euros of European funds that the Government fought for, which will enable a very strong economic recovery and resilience of the Croatian economy.
