Croatian Health Minister, Vili Beros, announced a full mobilization of the health system across the country as new cases of Covid-19 continue to remain high.
"I think it's time for a complete mobilization. I'm talking about the need for everyone to function in order to respond to this agreement to the maximum," Beros said in the introduction.
"We want to achieve the mobilization of the entire system. We did not intend to have retired doctors treating Covid-19 patients. This is not a formal announcement because it is valid from March 14, but more as an appeal," the Health Minister said, reports N1.
He did not answer how many doctors responded to the call to activate from retirement. "We have 73,000 health and non-health workers. By redistribution, we will try to meet the needs for as long as possible. We must have all options open, it is better that they are there ready, than to start looking for them when needed," Beros said.
Beroš also said that two days ago he ordered the Croatian Public Health Institute to create a register of health professionals who had contracted coronavirus.
He confirmed that 10 more ventilators would be sent to the Dubrava Hospital in Zagreb today.
