The Croatian and Korean national air carriers Croatia Airlines and Asiana Airlines have signed an agreement on code share cooperation.
By signing the agreement and creating a joint product, both companies expect an even better positioning on a highly competitive passenger transport market between Croatia and South Korea. Thus, within this cooperation, Croatia Airlines will provide passengers with connections via Frankfurt, London and Paris to Seoul, i.e. from Seoul via the mentioned European hubs to Zagreb, Split and Dubrovnik.
Asiana Airlines is one of South Korea’s two major airlines, along with Korean Air. The company has its headquarters in Asiana Town building in Seoul and a fleet of 82 aircraft including the most modern Airbus A350.
The South Korean air carrier is a member of one of the world’s largest global airline alliances Star Alliance. It operates 14 domestic and 90 international passenger routes, 27 cargo routes throughout Asia, Europe, North America, and Oceania, and carries almost 20 million passengers annually.
Croatia Airlines and Asiana Airlines code share flights are an additional convenience for passengers from the South Korean market, who are expected to reach the figure of 500,000 in Croatia this year, as well as for travellers from Croatia considering the fact that the 23rd Winter Olympics will be held in Pyeongchang in February 2018.
