Sixth SF Airlines flight from Shanghai to Zagreb delivered the extra amount of protective equipment needed to combat the coronavirus epidemic yesterday.
Approximately 76 tons of equipment arrived in Croatia, including disinfectants, goggles, shoe protectors and a large number of protective masks.
In addition to the commercially procured goods from MEHECO and Sinopharm, there were also hundreds of thousands of protective masks donated to Croatia by Sinopharm.
Dubrovnik firefighters from Dubrovnik transport the collected test samples to COVID-19 to Zagreb every day, and that should change by the end of May, thanks to a donation from the Foundation Blaga djela in amount of 650 thousand kuna, which will buy an RNA analyzer – Dubrovacki vjesnik reports.
With this device, 96 tests can be processed daily within two to two and a half hours, which is an extremely important data in this pandemic, notes Marijo Bekic, Director of Dubrovnik General Hospital. Dubrovnik patients are now waiting 24 hours, in some cases up to 48 hours. The device has already been selected and will be owned by the Dubrovnik General Hospital.
The employees of the biochemical laboratory of the Dubrovnik General Hospital will be trained to work on the device, in cooperation with the microbiology laboratory of the Public Health Institute of the Croatia. The laboratory will be located in the scientific unit of the General Hospital.
The device should be in use by mid or end of May, which is a very short period of time at the time of high demand for such medical equipment on the world market.
The Sanitat City Company will start charging parking in Dubrovnik again from May 1st.
There was no citywide parking charge from May 21st, and that was decided in order to minimize the contact with areas that can potentially transmit viruses, such as billing devices.
"All car parkings will start their regular operation except those in Zone 0, which include the Pile parking lot and the locations on Ulica branitelja Dubrovnika Street, and the Zicara - Donji Plato parking lot. In orderd to minimize the contact with billing devices and having the safety of the users on our mind, the use of these parkings will stay free for some time and therefore ramps will be raised - Sanitat reports.
In the past week in the area of Police Administration of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County there were nine traffic accidents, in which one person got heavily injured, two persons got light injuries, while there were six traffic accidents with material damage.
By carrying out traffic control measures, police officers have taken 229 repressive measures against the perpetrators of traffic offenses, out of which 229 measures taken due to speeding,14 measures because of non-use of the seat belt, six measures against drivers who were driving the vehicle under the influence of alcohol and three measures because of using mobile phone while driving.
There were also 15 traffic ofenses of opearating unregistered vehicle. The fine for the said offense is 700 kuna if the validity of the traffic permit has expired within 15 days, and 2000 kuna if the validity of the traffic permit has expired in more than 15 days. In the coming period, the police will pay special attention to the monitoring of this type of offense.
Despite the current situation with the COVID-19 virus epidemic, motorcycle and moped traffic have increased on the roads. On the occasion of the upcoming favorable weather conditions, the police reminded moped and motorcycle riders to: move at the prescribed speeds and to adjust the speed to the conditions on the roadway, drive the vehicles for which they passed the driving test and the required category, to operate motorcycles and mopeds that are registered or have valid traffic license and which are technically correct without any modifications and that while riding motorcycles and mopeds they are obliged to wear a safety helmet, including drivers and passengers, as well as any other equipment that is not prescribed, but is especially useful if you are involved in a road accident . Protective equipment mitigates possible injuries and their consequences. In the first place Police thinks about motorcycle jackets, pants, overalls, gloves, boots, visors and more.
They used this opportunity to emphasize the obligations and responsibilities of parents of young people using motorcycles and mopeds. In the protection of young riders, before they buy a moped and motorcycle, parents need to take all necessary pre-requisites (driving test, vehicle technical inspection and registration, vehicle technical check, purchase of a safety helmet and other necessary protective equipment) so that they are as protected as possible and more empowered to participate safely in traffic.
These are the mistakes that are often made and can risk lives:
- speeding,
- non wearing a prescribed and type-approved safety helmet or frequently using them in an improper manner,
- movement on surfaces not intended for this type of vehicle,
- overestimating driving ability and at the same time underestimating traffic hazards,
- overtaking or bypassing a traffic jams on a section of the roadway intended for the movement of vehicles from the opposite direction when this is not permitted under traffic signs or is risky given the traffic from the opposite direction,
- driving with unlit lights on vehicles during the day, which, given the "smaller silhouette of the vehicle itself and the driver" in comparison with other vehicles, are even less noticeable in traffic for others,
- driving of unregistered and technically defective vehicles and the frequent modification of vehicles,
- driving without passing an exam for the certain category,
- removal of the blockage on the mopeds.
Police also addressed car drivers,, advising them be careful not to deprive motorcyle and moped riders of the benefit of passing, because they overestimate their driving ability while at the same time underestimating traffic hazards. When rearranging, overtaking or diverting their vehicle, car drivers need to pay attention to this category of riders so that hey are not found in the so-called "blind corner" of the side mirror. -Keep in mind that motorcycles (and even mopeds) are vehicles that, given the mass / power ratio of short sections, can achieve relatively high accelerations – Police emphasized.

All techniques, as well as all formats, were allowed to make the work, and all the children, from kindergartens to elementary schools were able to participate.
The fourth SF Airlines Boeing 747 aircraft landed in Zagreb yesterday on a direct flight from Shanghai on an air bridge between China and Croatia set up to deliver the protective equipment needed to combat the coronavirus epidemic.
Same as the previous flights, it delivered large quantities of equipment commercially gotten from MEHECO and Sinopharm, as well as donations from Chinese cities and provinces to Croatian cities and counties: Yangzhou City to Korcula and Dubrovnik, Dongtai City to Opatija, and Jiangxi County to Zadar County.
The city of Yangzhou is a sister-city with Korcula, and last year police officers from there came during the summer season and were on a joint patrol with Croatian police officers on the Plitvice Lakes, Dubrovnik, Zadar and Zagreb, as favorite destinations for Chinese tourists, as part of the Safe tourist season.
A donation to hospitals in Slavonski Brod and Zagreb has been on the flight too. This donation has been collected by students from the Beijing University of Foreign Studies which has undergraduate degree in Croatian for over ten years.
There were a total of 57 tons of medical equipment on this flight.
