Preparations for the filming of Robin Hood:Origins are getting more intense as the movie set expands and slowly gets its shape. There's a lot of work, but already some of the wooden houses are built under the bridge at Ploce, as well as the path to the Old Port. It will be amazing to see Dubrovnik slowly transform into Nottingham.
Preparations started quite early since the filming starts in February, but it says a lot about the seriousness of production. There will be four filming locations: Stradun, St. Dominic street, Old City Port and under the bridge at Ploce.
DiCaprio is the executive producer and Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, will play Little John. Robin Hood will be played by Welsh actor Taron Egerton, famous for his role in Kingsman: The Secret Service and Maid Marion will be played by Irish actress Eve Hewson, who is the daughter of Bono from U2. One of the members of the cast that will surely make ladies sigh is Jamie Dornan, famous for his role of Mr. Grey in the movie 50 Shades of Grey. Robin Hood: Origins is directed by Otto Bathurst. The premiere of the movie is expected in early 2018.

After the opening of the exhibition which presented the bidding works of authors who participated in the international architectural competition for the preliminary design of the new Hotel Belvedere in Dubrovnik, as well as the winning work of the company 3LHD, a video simulation showing the new look of the hotel is now avaliable.
The competition for the conceptual design of the new Hotel Belvedere was carried out in two stages. Design solution proposed by 3LHD has proven to be the best and was awarded with the first prize. The awarded 3LHD design can be seen in the video.
A strong earthquake shook Split around 2 pm. According to preliminary information the earthquake was 5 magnitude on the Richter scale, but later was reduced to 4.6.
The epicenter was in the Adriatic Sea, eight kilometers from Trogir, at a depth of ten kilometers of intensity VI degree by Mercalli-Cancani-Sieberg scale.
Dubrovnik was also shaken by the earthquake, but it was much weaker than in Split.
Probably during the night, someone threw a plastic bottle on the late Gothich portal with Renaissance elements, a part of Francisian church, which is the work of Dubrovnik artists Leonardo and Petar Petrovic from 1498.

New decorative figure, representing Snowman Raguseo, was presented today in the Dubrovnik Tourist Board office.
Snowman has been built by the idea of Damir Racic from Dubrovnik and will be at the Tourist Board office during the holidays. It has already brought a great joy to children from the kindergarden Pile, who were delighted to see the snowman and take photos with him. They also sang ''Jingle Bells'' to Romana Vlasic, the director of Dubrovnik Tourist Board, who has greeted them and showed them the figure.
This is a great intro to the new Facebook competition. Dubrovnik Tourist Board calls for the participation of parents or adult family members to publish a photo of a child and Snowman Raguseo with hashtag #snjeskoraguseo.
The competition will take place from today to 16th of December, and the announcement of the winners - the best photos which participated and the award ceremony will be on Friday, December 23rd at 11 am.

Since Croatia is full of hidden gems, we were wondering which ones are listed on this website and do we know them all. There are also Walls of Ston, Dubrovnik Cathedral Treasury, abandoned tunnels of Korcula, Daksa island and Orlando's column – most of them are pretty common for the locals, but can be overlooked by tourists.

Just to compare - the world average is 14 centimeters. Slovenians are quite close with average size of 14,01 centimeters and Macedonia is slightly below– 13,98.
