Haley Dasovich is traveling all over the world and sharing her stories with her numerous followers on her Youtube and Instagram account. This lovely lady with Croatian roots has just recently visited Dubrovnik with her family and loved it! We couldn't miss the chance to talk to her and hear her Dubrovnik experience. Meet Haley.

Can you introduce yourself to our readers?

Hello readers! My name is Haley Dasovich and I’m a content creator from San Francisco, California.

You run really successful Youtube and Instagram account, how demanding is it?

I make videos on YouTube about my adventures around the world, and share more of my experiences on my instagram @haleydasovich. It is quite a demanding job because I work every day. There is not one day that goes by that I can really take the day off, and that's because I work for myself. Being my own boss is both a blessing and a curse. I have total control of my future and achievements, but I’m also ultimately responsible for all of the issues, challenges, and failures. It’s these ups and downs that can either keep me up at night, or make me feel like I can conquer anything.

Do you consider yourself to be an influencer?

I would never self-proclaim myself an influencer because I believe that term refers to what others may call me. I express myself through my travels, and personal voice, and I hope that sharing my relatable life experiences will inspire others to get out there in the world and see something new, experience something they haven’t before.

How hard is to make a perfect photo/video?

Gosh, that’s a tough question. As a content creator, it is undeniable that I strive to make a video, or take a photo that everyone will think to themselves “wow, that was amazing!” At the end of the day, I strive to make a video (or instagram photo) that is 1. Meaningful to me 2. Others can relate to, and 3. Is adding some kind of value to the world.

How many countries have you visited for now?

I’ve now visited 33 countries so far! : )

You’ve recently visited Dubrovnik, did you enjoy it? Why?

Dubrovnik was incredible and all the more special because I got to experience it with my family. We have Croatian heritage (as you may have noticed from my last name) and my Croatian grandfather passed away this summer. In celebration of my late grandfather, couple with my father’s 60th, our family decided to take a trip together to Croatia.

What was your favourite place?

My favorite place was Gruz market! My family loves to cook so the first thing we did, even before exploring Old town, was head to Gruz market to stock up on all kinds of seafood, fresh vegetables and fruits. We love to get the feel for local provisioning and going to the open market is always a great way to get acquainted with the locals.

How did you like the people?

The people in Dubrovnik are wonderful. They were immediately friendly and happy to help us as we made our way to Gruz market, or walking around Old town. We particularly made friends with every one of our servers at each restaurant or cafe we’d stop at. That was the mostinteraction we had with Croatians, and we found that they are abrupt and matter-of-fact, with a hilarious dry sense of humor.

Do you have any special memory?

We met an old woman at the market who we got along with almost immediately. We couldn’t speak any Croatian, and her english was limited, however we got through conversations by pointing or miming. Those memories are always the best, when you can connect with someone without speaking the language.

You have Croatian roots, so is visit Croatia a special experience for you? I

have been to Croatia two times now and the reason I came back is because it’s such a beautiful and unique country that is dear to my heart, both from nostalgia of my first trip, and because of my heritage that I’m so proud of. I’m so happy our family was able experience this amazing country and learn a bit more about where our roots came from.

Do you have any plans of returning to Croatia? Where would you like to go?

I will always have plans to return to Croatia! I would like to visit Zagreb on my trip.

What are your future plans? Where are you and where are you heading next?

I am currently taking a road trip all over Sri Lanka. I will be heading home to San Francisco after this for a just a short while, and then heading out to Japan.
