Dubrovnik Port welcomed its millionth passenger in 2018, two days earlier than last year. Michaela from Germany sailed with the boat "Mein Schiff 2" and, after leaving the ship, was ‘’kidnapped’’ by the Gentle Pirates of Dubrovnik, welcoming her to the city "where even the pirates are gentlemen". After the negotiations, the Dubrovnik Port Authority redeemed the captured princess of the pirates and handed over the gifts. Michaela discovered that this is not her first visit to Dubrovnik, but it is certainly the most beautiful one so far. The crew of "Mein Schiff 2" and the ship's captain Helge Wrage joined the celebration.
On this occasion, the port of Dubrovnik shared data of the traffic of ships on round trips. So far, 532 663 passengers have arrived to the port of Gruž on 312 ships, and by the end of the year 128 more arrivals are expected with about 200 thousand passengers, which would round this year to 440 arrivals and about 740 thousand passengers.
