If you aren’t allowed to go to the theatre but still want your culture fix in these challenging times the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb has a solution. The theatre has been closed to the public since the 12th of March but has found an ingenious way to provide their public with cultural events.

The Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb has decided to respond to the coronavirus crisis by providing citizens with access to quality cultural content through a special YouTube channel that will feature daily performances of opera, ballet and drama.

According to an announcement from the Croatian National Theatre this is a special collaboration between the theatre and the news publication 24 Sata. From today the theatre will use the YouTube channel of the newspaper to broadcast their cultural events. A special series of 40 shows on the channel of the newspaper starts today at 8pm. The program features such classics as Romeo and Juliet, Death in Venice and Dangerous Liaisons.

"We would like to present to audiences of the Croatian National Theatre in Zagreb, the readers of the newspaper 24 Sata, and the general public the best performances and thus, during the isolation period, offer them the opportunity to enjoy quality works of art," said the Croatian National Theatre.

Well done to the Croatian National Theatre for such a worthy project during these challenging times!
