The concert of the Austrian ensemble VIVID CONSORT, which brings an interesting combination of instrumental and vocal performances on historical instruments, will be held on the occasion of the Festivity of Saint Blaise and the Day of the City of Dubrovnik on Tuesday, February 4rd in the Rector's Palace Music Hall starting at 6 pm.
In cooperation with the Austrian Cultural Forum from Zagreb, the City of Dubrovnik, the University of Zagreb and the Dubrovnik Museums, the Croatian-Austrian Society Dubrovnik organizes a concert of the Austrian ensemble VIVID CONSORT on the occasion of the Festivity of Saint Blaise and the Day of the City of Dubrovnik. These are three young musicians with a Viennese address: Christine Gnigler, Lorine Vallaster and Sheng-Fang Chi who, thanks to their mesmerizing combination of instrumental-vocal performance on historical instruments, have attracted worldwide attention. During the past year they have performed at recognized European festivals and concert stages, and during the current season, among other things, they participate in the project cycles of the Vienna Konzerthaus.
On Tuesday at 6 pm, in the Rector's Palace Music Hall, the ensamble will perform a program called "Bitter fruit".
It is a collection of Renaissance love songs that "provides insight into the minds of 15th-century lovers, romantics and dreamers, rapturous and imaginative, and conveys melancholy and bitter-sweet songs through block-flute and singing."
The program "Bitter fruit" was released by the ensemble on a sound recording made in Vienna in 2018, and with this concert it will be presented to the Dubrovnik audience as a gift on the occasion of the Festivity of Saint Blaise and the Day of the City of Dubrovnik. Entrance to the concert is free.
