The Italian opera pop trio Il Volo, composed of baritone Gianluca Ginoble and tenors Piero Barone and Ignazio Boschetto, will perform with their band and with an orchestra composed of members of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra in front of the Dubrovnik Cathedral on Thursday, August 1st. The beginning of this opera pop concert is at 9:30 pm.
With a spectacular production, the audience can expect an unforgettable program and unique musical experience. Il Volo is coming to Dubrovnik on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary of the Festival and the concert is organized by the City of Dubrovnik, Star Production and the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, as part of its worldwide Musica Tour promoting the album which carries the same name: Musica.
The potential of the trio, who are celebrating ten years of their career this year, was discovered by Plácido Domingo, when he was collaborating with them on the Notte Magica project, which is also dedicated to the original Tenors: Domingo, Carreras and Pavarotti. Four years ago, Il Volo won the Sanremo Festival with the song "Grande Amore", and in the same year performed at the Eurovision Song Contest in Austria, where they ended up third.
On their significant anniversary in January this year they also sang at the World Youth Day in Panama, where they dedicated their performance of the song Ave Maria to the Pope. Their celebration will last all year long, and in addition to this one in Dubrovnik, it includes performances all over the world and a tour of Latin America, Japan and North America.
