Young Esperanza Ensemble to have a concert in the Rector's Palace

Written by  Jul 30, 2019

The rich program of the 70th Dubrovnik Summer Festival continues tonight with the performance of young virtuosos of the International Academy of Music in Liechtenstein. The Esperanza Ensemble, which won numerous important awards during their four years of existence, will perform in the atrium of the Rector's Palace, starting at 9:30 pm.

Gifted young musicians will perform the Concerto for Violin, Piano and Strings in D minor by Felix Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Vardapet's Miniature by Sergei Z. Aslamazian, Elgar's Serenade for Strings in E minor, Holst's Saint Paul’s Suite and Hendrix's Purple Haze by Schnyder, processed for string orchestra.

The Esperanza Young Ensemble, founded by Croatian musician Drazen Domjanic, whose longtime second home is Liechtenstein, debuted in February 2015 at the fifth edition of the Next Generation Festival in Bad Ragaz, where it received the highest ratings from audiences and international press. Since then, they have performed several equally praised concerts in Liechtenstein, Austria, Germany, Switzerland and Croatia.

The ensemble regularly receives invitations to various festivals, such as the Next Generation Festival and Music Connects in Bad Ragaz in Switzerland and the Vaduz Classic Festival in Liechtenstein. In 2017, they won the International Classical Music Award (ICMA) in the Special Achievement Award category, followed by the Opus Klassik Award for Best Promotion of Young Talents in September 2018. Shortly after, the Esperanza Ensemble debuted at Hamburg's Elbphilharmonie, hosting a mini-festival with four sold-out concerts.
