The photo exhibition "Tanzania in the heart" will be opened on Wednesday, March 27th, in the Etnografic Museum Rupe, starting at 8 pm. The exhibition is the result of cooperation between the Dubrovnik Museums, the author Bozo Benic and St. Michael Parish.
Sixty photographs in the large format of Dubrovnik architect Bozo Benic will be presented, recorded during the author's volunteer engagement in Africa.
As a volunteer of the association "Kolajna ljubavi", Benic had been in Tanzania on two occassions. From June to August 2015, he was the head of the Orphanage of St. Ante in Songea, which takes care of around fifty children without proper parental care, and the coordinator of the "Kumstvo" program, which help to more than a thousand children and young people across the country. In January 2018 he returned to Tanzania to oversee the construction of the water supply system in the parish of the Saint Francis of Assisi in the village of Monduli Juu in the north of the country financed by the funds collected under the humanitarian action "Dubrovnik for Africa: a drop of water - the ocean of love" initiated in cooperation with the St. Michael Parish.
The aim of the exhibition is to familiarize the Dubrovnik public with life in Tanzania, especially in the context of the end of the humanitarian action "Dubrovnik for Africa: a drop of water – the ocean of love".
The curator of the exhibition is Ivica Kipre. The exhibition is realized with the support of the City of Dubrovnik and the Tourist Board of the City of Dubrovnik and remains open until April 15th.
