Orlando and Saint Blaise exhibition to show works by the Dubrovnik artists

Orlando and Saint Blaise exhibition will be opened in the framework of the exhibition program of the Festivi-ty of Saint Blaise – Festa 2019 Dubrovnik, in cooperation with the Dubrovnik Association of Artists, Croatian Heritage Foundation and Marin Drzic Theater on Wednesday, January 30th, starting at 7:30 pm in the lobby.

As art historians Antun Karaman and Marin Ivanović announce: -This year's exhibition of the Dubrovnik Associa-tion of Fine Artists with several invited artists who, although prepared for the day of Dubrovnik's St. Blaise Day, does not offer motives related to the life and spiritual significance of this saint, but with a thematic frame, it dives into stories of another, also significant Dubrovnik symbol, knight Orlando, whose appearance in medieval Du-brovnik indicates the Dubrovnik connection with the Croat-Hungarian throne, and the communal autonomy and freedom that the Dubrovnik Republic conquered and held for 450 years - from 1358 until its termination in 1808.

Describing the approaches to the works of Dubrovnik artists who will be exposed on this occasion, quite different approaches of the art to the subject are evident,, Karaman and Ivanovic write.
