TRADITIONAL CONCERT: Rotary Club Dubrovnik and Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra join for the revitalization of burnt areas of Orebic

Traditional donation concert by the Rotary Club Dubrovnik in cooperation with the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra and the City of Dubrovnik will be held on Thursday, December 13th, in the Dubrovnik Cathedral, starting at 7.30 pm. The concert which is a sort of overture to Christmas will donate all the collected money for the purchase of olive plants for the purpose of rehabilitation and revitalization of the burnt and unprocessed areas of the Orebic municipality. 

The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by renowned American conductor Marc Tardue, and the young soprano Sara Zuvela and the award-winning jazz singer and composer Maja Grgic will perform as soloists. The soloists will perform orchestral performances such as "Ave Maria" by F. Schubert, "O Divine Redeemer" by Ch. Gounod, "Hallelujah" by L. Cohen, accompanied with traditional songs like "Kyrie Eleison". Vocal group Kase will also join the performance with works "Galiotova pesan" and "O jabuko zeleniko".

Two years ago, the collected money of the concert were intended for the seedlings for the reconstruction of olive groves in the area of the Korcula municipality of Smokvica, last year reconstruction of olive groves in Konavle, and this year, as mentioned above, for the purchase of olive plants for the purpose of rehabilitation and revitalization of the fired and unprocessed areas of Orebic.
