Written by  May 17, 2016

Top Russian violinist and one of the best performers of baroque pieces in the world, Dmitry Sinkovsky, will have three concerts in three different locations, and perform three different programs in Dubrovnik.

This violin virtuoso has a educational background in a prestigious Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory and has earned numerous awards at major competitions - from Premio BONPARTE in Italy to Bach Competition in Leipzig, Musica Antiqua in Bruges, Telemann Competition in Magdeburg and many others. Critics and audiences emphasize his "playing from the heart", expression and imagination. In 2007, when he has already achieved significant career as a violinist, Sinkovsky also improved his talent as a countertenor, so today in its repertoire he also performs the roles from famous operas, cantatas and oratorios. Considering his talent, it is not surprising that Dmitry regularly performs throughout Europe and the rest of the world.
Public in Dubrovnik will get the opportunity to hear such a skilled violinist for the first time tonight, and the concert will be held in the church of Saint Dominic under the baton of Maestro Christoph Campestrini. Mozart's Concerto for Violin and Orchestra no. 5 in A major and Beethoven's Symphony no. 6 in F major, Op. 68 'Pastoral' are on the program.

The second concert is on Friday May 20th in the Franciscan church, and Sinkovsky will perform as a violinist and artistic director of the String Chamber Orchestra of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra (DSO), and the program is titled Only Baroque. The program includes works by F. Geminiani, A. Corelli, A. Vivaldi, J. Haydn and C.Ph.E. Bach.

The third concert will be held on Tuesday, May 24th at the Sponza Palace.
