Dubrovnik waves farewell to 68th Dubrovnik Summer Festival

With the lowering of the Libertas Flag and a gala concert in the centre of the city the 68th Dubrovnik Summer Festival ended in fine fashion last night. A gala concert featuring the Croatian Radio Television Symphony Orchestra led by Italian conductor Alberto Veronesi and with the support of violinist Alexei Semenenko closed what was a memorable and successful festival.

The last night of the Dubrovnik Summer Festival is also reserved for the award ceremony “Orlanbdo” and this year’s winner of the best drama performance was Ozren Grabaric for the role of Marin Drzic in this year’s premiere “Marin Drzic - Victory Over the Enemies.” Grabaric thanked first and foremost the citizens of Dubrovnik that they accepted him well and accepted his performance of Marin Drzic and also thanked everyone who participated in the show.

This year, the 68th festival, the Dubrovnik Summer Festival gathered together about 2,000 artists from all over the world, who performed 72 theatrical, concert, opera, dance, folklore, film and exhibition programmes within 47 days, from 10 July to 25 August, in 16 site-specific venues in Dubrovnik and its surroundings.
