Music festival ‘Dubrovnik musical spring’ was presented yesterday on the press conference organized by the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra in the Sponza Palace.
Ana Hilje, head of the Department of culture and heritage pointed that this is one more ‘’beautiful musical story’’. She stated that the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra concerts improve the quality of the music program in the city. Romana Vlasic, director of the Dubrovnik Tourist Board, said that she hopes for the new, similar projects in the future. Director of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra Damir Milat thanked all the sponsors and stressed out the problems – money, space and number of musicians in the orchestra. He was also thankful for the places where the concerts will take place: Revelin Fortress, Cathedral and Franciscan Church.
Dubrovnik musical spring is a cycle of classical music concerts which will take place in Dubrovnik from April 18th to 28th. With maestro Campestrini, concerts will be also conducted by the Zagreb conductor Tomislav Facini and honorary conductor of the Orchestra, Pavle Despalj.
There will be performances by pianist Aljosa Jurinic, violinist and concert master of Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra Dana Kahriman, first bassoon of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra Matija Novakovic and Russian violinist Dmitry Sinkovsky.
