This Friday, the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra opens its new concert season at the Rector's Palace. In its anniversary year, the orchestra has prepared a rich program featuring top musicians, and the season will begin with violinist Eva Šulić Brajčić.
The concert will take place on May 2nd, starting at 8:30 PM.
The orchestra will be conducted by Ivan Hut, and the program includes Sorkočević’s Symphony No. 1, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2, and the Dubrovnik Suite by L. Rogowski. The soloist—who is also the DSO’s concertmaster—will perform La Primavera, also by Ludomir Rogowski, a composer who was both Polish and Dubrovnik-based. This concert will serve as a prelude to the orchestra’s upcoming tour in Poland, which will follow their anniversary concert at the Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall in Zagreb.
Tickets for this Friday’s concert are available online via ulaznice.hr, at Luža, through the Perla Adriatica agency, and at the venue one hour before the performance. Discounts for Dubrovnik residents can only be obtained at the DSO box office. For more information, contact +385 91 613 7314.
The concert is part of the Dubrovnik Musical Spring series, supported by the City of Dubrovnik, Dubrovnik Tourist Board, Dubrovnik-Neretva County, and the Ministry of Culture and Media of the Republic of Croatia.
