Dubrovnik Musical Autumn Concludes with a Spectacular Concert Featuring Vivaldi, Stamitz, and Mozart

Written by  Oct 22, 2024

The Dubrovnik Musical Autumn will conclude with a concert this Thursday, October 24th, at the Church of the Little Brothers. The concert will begin at 8:00 PM.

The Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will be conducted by Slobodan Begić, with solo performances by clarinetist Marija Župić Bošnjak, bassoonist Matija Novaković, and piccolo player Ines Ivanjek.

The concert program includes Vivaldi's Concerto for Piccolo and Strings in C major, Stamitz's Concerto for Clarinet and Bassoon, Mozart's Divertimento, and Vivaldi's Concerto for Strings in A major.

The soloists at this concert share more than just their expertise in wind instruments, teaching careers, and being award-winning musicians; they also have connections to Dubrovnik. Marija Župić Bošnjak spent a significant part of her education in Dubrovnik at the Luka Sorkočević Art School, where she studied music theory and clarinet under Professor Pietro Cavaliere. Ines Ivanjek, a native of Zagreb, worked as the principal flute player in the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra from 1998 to 2012 and was also involved in teaching and performing as a soloist in the city. Matija Novaković is the principal bassoonist of the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra, a lecturer at the Luka Sorkočević School of Music, and the initiator of numerous cultural events in Konavle. Dubrovnik has always been an ideal place for musical encounters and inspiration, and this evening will be dedicated to wind instrument soloists.

Tickets for the concert are available at the DSO office (Sv. Dominika 9), where residents can enjoy a 30% discount on all ticket prices, at Luža, the Perla Adriatica agency, and online at ulaznice.hr. For more information and reservations, contact 091 613 7314.

The Dubrovnik Musical Autumn series is organized by the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra with the support of the City of Dubrovnik and the Dubrovnik Tourist Board.
