Even if you genuinely enjoy your day job, it may not bring just as much money as you would like. While it may be sufficient to meet your day-to-day needs, you probably aspire to something more. Fortunately, there are ways to supplement your income without changing your current job or counting on a lottery win. You can get a side gig - something you enjoy doing, which can earn you some money. Who knows, maybe it will even become your primary source of income in the future

Below, you will find some money-making opportunities you don’t want to miss in 2021. Blogging, freelancing, social media management, betting, or dropshipping - these are just some of the things that can boost your income. Read on to learn more and figure out which suits you best!

Sports Betting

Are you a fan of American football, basketball, soccer, or any other popular sport? If yes, then you can turn it into extra cash. You can bet on your favorite team and win some money if they win. Betting is one of the fastest-growing money-making opportunities out there. If you have some free time on your hands and know a few things about sports, you can make a profit by betting on matches. Of course, you don’t have to be a professional tipster - you can simply use your common sense and some background knowledge to determine whether a team will win.

However, if you’re not familiar with sports betting, you should probably do some research before putting your money on the table. Check out sports betting odds explained by professionals, research different types of bets, rules offered by various bookmakers, and so on.

Blogging

If you’re a writer and want to make some money from your passion, blogging may be one of the best money-earning methods available to you. You don’t need to become a bestselling author to make profit. In fact, many bloggers simply write about their lives and hobbies - and make a great living from it.

Blogging is not just about writing, though - you also have to promote your page. If you want to get noticed, simply publishing new posts won’t cut it. You need to go on social media, on forums, simply stay active - wherever your target audience is. And while some people promote their blogs free of charge, others use paid advertisements. Whatever you decide to do, do it with the thought that a popular blog with many followers really can become your primary source of income.

Other Types of Freelancing

If you’re a skilled worker, you may be able to earn money through freelancing without even leaving your desk. Freelancing is probably the most popular way to boost your income these days. Whether you have a knack for writing, programming, designers, or anything else, you can enjoy working from home and getting paid for side jobs.

You can ask around or market your services online, but there also are websites that can help you find freelance jobs in your area of expertise, e.g., Upwork. Before you sign up for any job, check out the reputation of the agency or person who is hiring you. If you feel you can trust them, you’re good to go.

Social Media Management

Social media is another popular method for earning money. If you know your way around Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and other platforms, you can help other companies boost their online presence. You can post new content, engage with followers, and promote accounts or pages. You will be able to make some nice money, even if you only spend several hours per week on it.

Remember to always check the reputation of the company before taking on any job. Make sure you really want to work for them.

Dropshipping

Dropshipping is a great way to earn money in this digital age. You can sell physical or digital products without paying for their storage or shipping costs. Instead, you’re simply selling them with a margin.

While there are plenty of dropshipping tutorials online, the best way to start this business is to find a dropshipping wholesaler who can supply your store with goods. Remember, though, that you need to be prepared to handle customer complaints. It’s also important to understand that buying products in bulk doesn’t mean that you can sell them at a discount - you still need to offer them for more than what you paid for them.

Forex Trading

Forex trading is another innovative way to earn extra cash. Online trading platforms allow you to buy and sell currencies, commodities, or other financial instruments. You can do it for fun or trade with real money. If you choose the latter, just be sure to use a reliable broker to provide you with the tools and resources you need to succeed.

If you’re not familiar with online trading, you should probably do some research. The market is so big, you can spend days learning all of its ins and outs. Eventually, though, you will be able to trade with confidence. And if you start earning money, you may even consider quitting your day job.

Final Thoughts

If you want to make more money, there are always ways to do it. We’ve listed some of the most popular money-making methods here - but this is certainly not an exhaustive list. You can do many things to earn extra cash, and you don’t need special skills or knowledge to do them. If you want to make more money, just pick something that sounds interesting to you - and start doing it.

We hope that this article was helpful, and you’ve got some basic ideas for great side jobs in 2021. Good luck!

Every fifth construction worker in Croatia is a foreigner, with 2,388 Nepalese coming to Croatia this year alone.

Workers from the countries of the former Yugoslavia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo and Northern Macedonia have been the most numerous in terms of employment of foreign workers in Croatia for years, mostly in that order, and fifth place was usually reserved for workers from Albania, or sometimes for workers from Ukraine. But this year, in fifth place, according to the number of work permits issued, are workers from Nepal, reports N1.

According to data received by Novi List from the Ministry of the Interior (MUP), 2,388 work and residence permits had been issued to Nepalese citizens by 1 September this year. As a total of 52,679 work permits were issued in the same period, this means that every 22nd foreigner who received a work permit in Croatia is from Nepal.

Around the same time in pre-pandemic 2019, at the end of August, 480 Nepalese people were employed in Croatia. The number of citizens of that Asian country who came to Croatia for work in two years has almost increased fivefold.

The numbers are comparable because by the beginning of September this year, the Ministry of the Interior issued almost the same number of work and residence permits to third-country nationals as in 2019.

“If you’re spending time in Dubrovnik, then Lokrum Island is a great place to go (only a 10-minute ferry ride away). This is a small island that is uninhabited, giving refuge as well as a great place for a skinny dip. Here you can enjoy impeccable scenery, national parks, and clear waters. The island consists mainly of rocks, so be careful with the bits of stone. This island also has a natural salty lake, which can be enjoyed like a jacuzzi to relax,” wrote the article about Lokrum.

Cars have been perceived both as common means of commuting as well as expensive toys that satisfy your passion and obsession with speed, thrill, and various other factors. Owning a dream car someday is pretty much an important bucket list item in people’s books and when you finally achieve that goal, you realize that there’s much more to owning a car than just buying it. CarIndigotries to explain how running a car can cost you way more than what you would expect if you don’t do it right.

Before you venture out to buy the car of your dreamsor simply purchase one for your daily commutes, it is important to know that the exact financial preparation that needs to be done in order to have a car in your driveway is not just accumulating the money to purchase one. Cars, like any other modes of transport that are present today, are mere machines and like any machine, they need power, care, and support in order to run.

It is an important thing to know about the financial mechanics of running a car before purchasing one because the expenses might be way more than what you calculate sometimes. The average yearly cost of owning a car in the USAis said to be around the $5,300 mark according to some recent surveys. This number fluctuates from state to state and includes the average costs for gas, insurance, car payments, service, road tax, and so on. And surprisingly some surveys reveal that most people underestimate the cost of owning a car by 50%.

This underestimation and ignorance of the actual running costs can not only impact your pocket in the long run, but it will also be a problem for the environment as studies suggest that with the right knowledge of the actual cost of running a car amongst the car owners, there might be about 37% fewer cars on the roads which will further have a healthier impact on the environment.

The costs of running a car can be divided into two categories. The first category is known as ‘Standing Costs’ and the second one is known as the ‘Running Costs’ category. Standing costs include the various expenses that are not generally required for the vehicle to function, rather they are focused more on the documentation and factors that affect the resale value of your car. Insurances, road taxes, interests, and depreciation values all fall under the 'Standing Charges' category.

Unless your car is an off-road only car with a Statutory Off Road Notification document, you are liable to pay for insurance as it is a legal requirement. Always search around for the best deal in insurance and in this way you can save up some money. Road taxes generally depend upon the age and emission levels of the vehicle and vary from state to state. Interest rates definitely count as a standing cost if you bought your car through financing.

Depreciation values are one of the major factors that need to be considered while evaluating the standing costs of your vehicle as cars do tend to depreciate in value over time but you can always reduce the rate of depreciationby being smart and researching. A simple tip would be the fact that new cars tend to depreciate at a higher rate when compared to used cars.

The next category seems to be ‘Running Costs. These are the factors that we usually consider thoroughly before purchasing a vehicle and if you misinterpret some points, there’s a high chance that your car might cost way more than what you expected in the first place. First up are the fuel costs. It is very important to consider your intention behind buying a car and choosing the right car for its intended purpose as gas prices are one of the major costs that influence your running costs.

You definitely don’t need a gas-guzzling supercar for your daily commutes to work at a distant part of the city even if you have the means to afford the car in the first place. Fuel economy, range, and the purpose on which you intend to buy the car should be considered before buying a car to avoid unnecessary gas bills. Next up on the list is the obvious service and repairs. Just like any other machine, cars require timely service and repairsif necessary not only to run them smoothly and fine but also to save your car from burning a hole through your pockets.

If you ignore any issues or regular services of your car, the most likely thing to happen after you ignore these issues will be a long bill of repairs and service charges from any major failure of a part or due to other reasons. These are unnecessary expenses that you can definitely avoidby being a bit considerate towards your car and following the service book. Other factors that come in running costs include parking charges, tickets, and towing charges which can usually be avoided if you are aware of your car’s health and your driving style and habits.

These are some necessary things that a lot of car portals tell you to consider so that you can buy the right car for the right kind of purpose and money. Factors like these cannot be ignored because the cost of owning a car does not just include the amount spent to purchase one, it also consists of all the standing charges and running costs that make the car healthy and legal to be running on public roads.

And it is the combined costs that you might need to spend in the long run that you need to calculate and misinterpreting or not taking it seriously will not only be a catastrophe for you financially, but it would also have an impact on the environment if you don’t sensibly think of the fact if you really need a car or not.

The fact of the matter is that misinterpreting the running costs and being too optimistic about buying a car will eventually add one more car on the public roads and with a large chunk of people following the same path will lead to more cars on the roads than what is actually needed, which will further impact the environment due to the increase in pollution caused by vehicles.

On Friday the Prefect of the Dubrovnik-Neretva County, Nikola Dobroslavić, received winemakers from the county who won platinum, gold and silver medals for their wines at this year's Decanter in London, the world's largest wine competition.

“First of all, I would like to congratulate our winemakers on their outstanding success at Decanter in London this year. Among the 18 thousand samples that were evaluated from 56 countries, winemakers from our county won two platinum, one gold, 11 silver and 13 bronze medals, which is a remarkable success. We have excellent wines, we have the best Croatian wines, and this was also confirmed in the international competition. I thank the winemakers for their efforts, and that they managed to get outstanding white and red wines from the quality grapes we have this year and that they can present the county in the best light at such a competition," said Dobroslavić.

The representative of winemakers, Andro Crvik, said that he thought that no branch of production in Croatia had progressed as much in the last 25 years as winemaking.

"First of all, I would like to congratulate our winemakers and colleagues, because the performance at Decanter is a great success. We have been systematically working on raising quality for the last 20 years, it is easy to succeed in the domestic market, but difficult in the foreign market. These awards at Decanter are proof that we are on the right path,” commented Crvik.

Damir Štimac from the Rizman winery said that these awards are very important for producers and this is in a way a confirmation of their good work. "As a winemaker and entrepreneur, I think we have given a new value to the Dubrovnik-Neretva County. I think that our future is definitely on the autochthonous varieties of Dalmatia and Croatia.” added Štimac.

According to today's latest data from the National Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia, 1,042 new cases of Covid-19 virus have been recorded in the last 24 hours, and the number of active cases in Croatia today is 5,691.

Among them, 552 people are in hospital, of which 59 are on ventilators.

Unfortunately, a further 8 people passed away from the virus in Croatia in the past 24 hours.

Since February 25, 2020, when the first case of infection was recorded in Croatia, a total of 381,946 people have been infected with the new coronavirus, of which 8,413 have died, a total of 367,842 people have recovered, of which 678 recovered in the last 24 hours.

There are currently 11,647 people in self-isolation.

To date, a total of 2,638,469 people have been tested, of which 10,353 in the last 24 hours.

As of September 9, 3,321,265 doses of vaccine had been consumed, and 43.24% of the total population and 51.92% of the adult population had been vaccinated. On 9 September, 7,358 doses of vaccine were administered, of which 4,495 persons were vaccinated with the first dose.

The Croatian Minister of Health, Vili Beroš, held a press conference today to explain the current Covid-19 situation across the country. Yesterday, Croatia was ranked as red on the new European Centre for Disease Control Covid-19 map as new case number continue to climb on a daily basis. Today, 1,042 new cases of the virus were reported. And the Minister clearly blamed the recent rise of the people who still refuse to get vaccinated. Around 51 percent of the adult population in Croatia has been vaccinated.

“The key to success is in the hands of the unvaccinated, it depends on them whether all our efforts will fall into the water. Over 81 percent of newly infected cases of Covid-19 are unvaccinated. In the Split Hospital, over 93 percent of those hospitalized are unvaccinated. So don’t the numbers say it all? Over 90 percent, in some places 94 percent, are not vaccinated on ventilators. Mathematics is exact, you don't have to trust me, trust mathematics,” said the Minister of Health.

However, the unvaccinated didn’t seem to believe firstly the science so is there any hope that they will listen to the math? The Minister added that “Let's play this game of chance, let's save lives, I have to tell you that as your minister. As we have been announcing for some time, aware of the epidemiological situation, we are preparing two new measures that would introduce the use of the Covid digital certificate or proof of illness or vaccination into the health system. Several decisions are being prepared in the Ministry of Health,” announced Beroš.

When asked at the press conference if Covid certificates could be applied for people entering larger shopping centres the Minister answered “Every day we talk about this issue. In the general context, we are thinking about other departments as well. I think that the department of social welfare is also a sector where this should be introduced. The profession will decide on shopping malls,” he said.

In the last 24 hours, 46 new cases of coronavirus infection were recorded in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County.

These are 22 males and 24 females: 24 from Dubrovnik, six from Konavle, four from Župa dubrovačka, three from Korčula, two from Blato, Metković and Ploče and one from Lumbarda, Opuzen and Vela Luka.

Fifteen people made a full recovery: eight from Dubrovnik, two from Konavle and Župa dubrovačka, and one from Opuzen, Ploče and Vela Luka.

In the last 24 hours, 618 samples were processed, and a total of 128,863 samples have been analyzed since the beginning of the pandemic.

29 people tested positive for coronavirus were hospitalized in the Dubrovnik General Hospital. Four patients require intensive care and are on ventilators.

There are 687 people in self-isolation, and no case of violation of the self-isolation measure has been recorded in the last 24 hours.
