The birthplace of Vlaho Bukovac, a distinguished figure in Croatian art and a pioneer of modern Croatian painting, reopened to the public in May 2004 following a decade-long closure and a meticulous three-year restoration. The grandeur of the Bukovac House extends beyond its architectural elegance, enchanting garden, and central location in the heart of the town. Its true significance lies in the legacy of Vlaho Bukovac, reflected in his artistic contributions and the rich history of his family. This residence epitomizes a typical 19th-century Dalmatian bourgeois home, featuring a stone-built, two-story structure with a central courtyard (korto) and an expansive back garden.

Of particular interest are the newly uncovered wall paintings in the eastern section of the house, created by a young Bukovac before his departure to Paris. The former living room (tinel) and the painter's studio now display around thirty of Bukovac's works, along with pieces of the original furniture, personal items, and everyday objects from his time. The ground floor serves as a separate exhibition space for contemporary art displays, which are held regularly.
