Art Pavilion – Your Black Horizon, will be opened again on the island of Lopud from Friday, May 18th. The authors are Olafur Eliasson and David Adjaye.
These world-renowned artists have presented this unique architectural and lighting installation at the Venice Biennale in 2005 and since 2007 the Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary Foundation permanently set it up on the island of Lopud and donated it to the locals and their guests.
Artist Olafur Eliasson and architect David Adjaye have created an installation designed as an environment in which art and architecture are viewed from the very beginning as one, as a "reciprocal equation", and specially set it up for specific light conditions on Lopud.
Light changes color through a cyclic spectrum of one day-from sunrise to sunset, impressing the horizon in the back of the retina of the visitor's eye and activating their memory of the natural horizon.
The Pavilion is located within the well-kept and maintained gardens of Siskovo, in the very center of Lopud, and as in previous years the visit and the tour will be completely free of charge every day from 10am to 7pm.
