Could this be the best ever year for Dubrovnik tourism

Dubrovnik has achieved record tourism results in the first nine months of this year. From January 1st to  September 30th 2017, there were 1.03 million tourists in Dubrovnik, which is a healthy 17 percent more than in the same period from last year. There were 3.5 million overnight stays, or 14 percent more than last year. In the first nine months, the largest number of tourists came from the United Kingdom, USA, France, Germany, Spain, Croatia, Australia, Sweden, Italy and Finland.

This September was the best tourist September ever in Dubrovnik.

Only in September this year there were 164,712 arrivals or 16 percent more than in the same month last year and 558,927 overnight stays, which is 13 percent more than in 2016. The largest number of visitors in September were the tourists from the United Kingdom, followed by tourists from the United States, Germany, France, Australia, Spain, Canada, Ireland, Sweden and Finland.

In the hotel accommodation, in the period from January 1st to September 30th this year, there were 535 667 guests, or an increase of 6 percent compared to last year, with 1 818 378 overnight stays, 4 percent more than last year. In the hotel accommodation, the largest number of guests in nine months of this year are from the United Kingdom, USA, France, Croatia, Spain, Germany, Korea, Japan, Australia and Sweden.

Private accommodation in the first nine months of this year had 358,385 arrivals, or 28 percent more than in the same period last year, and 1 254 448 overnight stays, which is 24 percent more than in 2016. The largest number of tourists in private accommodation were from the United Kingdom, USA, France, Spain, Germany, Australia, Italy, Canada, Korea and Sweden.

Currently in Dubrovnik, 14,875 tourists are staying in all types of accommodation, which is 10 percent more than in the same period last year, and most guests are from the United Kingdom, USA, Germany, France, Korea, Australia, China, Finland, Canada and Spain.

The millionth arrival was made in Dubrovnik on the 24th of September 2017, while last year it was made more than a month later on the 5th of November 2016. With two million passengers travelling through Dubrovnik Airport and the millionth visitor on the Dubrovnik City Walls, Dubrovnik continues to achieve record breaking tourist results.
