According to the latest data from the eVisitor system, 117,288 arrivals and 399,921 overnight stays were recorded during the Easter period in Croatia, or 68 percent more arrivals and 94 percent overnight stays in comparison to the same period last year.
''For the first half of April the results are excellent and we believe such trend will continue in the rest of the month. These figures indicate that Croatia has plenty to offer even in the pre-season period, and that it becomes more recognizable as a year-round destination'', commented Gari Cappelli, the Croatian Minister of Tourism.
The data show that most overnights stays were recorded in the Istria County (134,000), in the Kvarner region (70,000) and in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County (57,000). The most numerous guests were from Germany (90,000 overnight stays), Italy (41,000), Austria (41,000), France (16,000) and Slovenia (15,000). The domestic guests realized 46,000 overnight stays in the Easter period.
